Banana powder grinding is the process of making bananas into fine banana powder after a series of processing. This process mainly includes four key steps: peeling, slicing, drying and grinding. Among them, grinding is the key link to ensure that the banana powder is fine and tastes good. The following is the main process of banana powder grinding:

  • Peeling

First, you need to select unripe green bananas and remove the skin of the bananas. This step is not only to remove the skin to prevent impurities from entering the finished product, but also to maintain the purity and color of the banana powder.

    • Slicing

After peeling, the bananas should be sliced into uniform slices, usually between 5-7 mm thick. The purpose of slicing is to accelerate the drying of the bananas and reduce their moisture content to a suitable level. After slicing, the bananas should be dried as soon as possible to avoid discoloration caused by oxidation.

    • Drying

The sliced bananas need to be dried at low temperatures. The temperature is usually controlled at 60-70℃, and the drying time is usually 6-8 hours, until the banana slices are completely dehydrated and crisp. Avoid excessive temperatures during drying, otherwise the banana slices may change color or produce bitterness. After drying, the moisture content of the banana slices should be less than 5%, which can ensure that they will not stick together when ground into powder, and is conducive to the preservation of the finished product.

    • Grinding

Grinding is the core step in making banana powder, which directly determines the fineness and taste of the finished product. The following are the key points of grinding:

    • Equipment selection: Use a banana powder grinding machine to ensure that the banana slices can be ground into powder quickly and reduce the roughness of the powder.
    • Grinding fineness: During the grinding process, the fineness of the grinding equipment needs to be adjusted according to the purpose. Generally speaking, the fineness of banana powder is controlled between 100-200 mesh. The finer the particles, the better the taste.
    • Temperature control: During the grinding process, the friction of the machine will generate heat. Too high temperature will cause the banana powder to lose its fragrance, so it is necessary to pay attention to timely heat dissipation to avoid affecting the quality of the finished product due to high temperature.

After grinding, the banana powder can be sieved to remove coarse particles to improve the uniformity and taste of the banana powder.
